About El Rodeo - Principal's Message

September, 2009

Dear El Rodeo Families,

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year at El Rodeo School.  I sincerely hope that each of
you had a wonderful summer spending time relaxing, having fun, taking trips, applying
your knowledge to real life experiences and spending time together.  Mr. Painter and I
look forward to seeing you come up the path on the first day of school, handing you a
new El Rodeo pencil, and hearing about how you spent your summer.

As we look forward to another exceptional year at El Rodeo, we will continue to offer
programs that we introduced last year such as our middle school WOLF Outdoor
Education programs, Middle School Writer’s Conference, Musical Theatre, Music Center
Assemblies, Elementary Science Enrichment, Constitution Test Luncheon, and much
more, all sponsored by the PTA.  Through programs such as these, we will continue to
focus on our vision that all students have the right to be successful and to identify the
many ways that we can contribute to and enhance student achievement for all El
Rodeo students.

I am available to meet with you either formally or informally and will be available by
email (pescalante@bhusd.k12.ca.us) and by telephone, after August 14, 2008, to discuss
with you the things that are going well at El Rodeo and to discuss your suggestions for
positive growth and change.

Your support and involvement in your child’s education is the greatest contribution you
can make to their individual growth and development.    The overwhelming success of
the El Rodeo school community reflects the commitment and dedication that is directed
toward creating a nurturing, safe and scholarly environment that meets the needs of all
learners.  This year, please join me in scheduling the time to communicate with your
child’s teachers and to let them know you are appreciative of the hard work that is
going on in their classrooms and, if necessary, to share with them any questions you may
have regarding your child.

We have worked hard this summer to plan and provide an enriched and meaningful
educational program for your child this year.  Many new and returning teachers will be a
part of our outstanding teaching staff and we very much appreciate your support, your
warm welcome and your partnership in making this the best year ever.  See you on the
first day of school, September 2, 2009.

Sincerely,

Patricia Escalante
Principal
